VASPs will be guided on using network field in User Account Verification, User Verification and with Chainalysis KYT API.
The Network field is used when the Symbol information alone cannot be used to verify the virtual asset. For example, USDT is a virtual asset that is traded on various blockchains, including Ethereum, Tron, EOS, and Omni. The USDT information alone cannot be used to identify which network the asset is traded on. Even if the Originating VASP and the Beneficiary VASP both support USDT, if the networks they handle are different, they cannot send or receive virtual assets. Therefore, validation of network information is crucial.
By filling in the Network field, VASP can clearly identify which blockchain network the virtual asset belongs to during account verification or user verification, and prevent errors of misdirected transfers.
The Network field is not mandatory for any transfers. It is not required even for assets that are distributed across multiple networks, such as USDT. However, it is recommended to enter the Network field if possible, as network mismatches during verification can lead to misdirected transfers.
The table below shows the list of values that can be entered in the Network field. The values are sorted in alphabetical order, not case-sensitive. (The Network field will be updated periodically.)
